The Northern Elders Forum, NEF, has said the decision of the Chairman of the Forum on the consensus arrangement for presidential aspirants of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, does not represent the stance of the forum.
A statement issued by NEF Director, Publicity and Advocacy, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, said the action taken by Ango Abdullahi was in his personal capacity.
The statement noted that it was strongly committed to the creation of a level playing field which would allow the emergence of the best leaders in the 2023 elections.
It added that the Forum remains united behind the protection and projection of the interests of the North and Nigeria.
Recall that the Chairman endorsed a former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, and Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, as the consensus aspirants ahead of the 2023 presidential primaries of the PDP.
