The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project, SERAP, has written to President Muhammadu Buhari on the recent repatriation of $23 million stolen by late Sani Abacha.
A letter signed by SERAP’s Deputy Director, Kolawole Oluwadare urged Buhari and the Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami to provide a copy of the agreement signed by the United States government with the Federal government to return the money to Nigeria.
According to the letter, disclosure of the details would allow Nigerians to scrutinize and monitor the spending of the funds.
