Bayelsa State government has urged the National Boundary Commission to speed up action on the resolution of the boundary dispute with Rivers State.
Deputy Governor of the State, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, made the call at a town hall meeting with the state and Delta inter-state boundaries in Yenagoa, the state capital.
Ewhrudjakpo, stated that resolution will enhance peaceful co-existence between the two states, stressing that peace will be elusive if the commission does not address issues of equity, justice, and fairness.
While commending the Commission for seeking peaceful resolution for the impacted communities, the Deputy Governor implored them to focus on settling the age-long boundary dispute.
