The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA, has secured at least 20 convictions in the past one year.
Director-General of the NIMASA, Bashir Jamoh, disclosed this at the 53rd Session of the State House Briefing in Abuja.
According to Jamoh, those arrested include perpetrators of poaching, piracy and other crimes in the Gulf of Guinea.
The Director added that all 20 persons convicted are serving a total of 119 years behind bars with some given an option of a fine.
