The Nigeria Medical Association has revealed that Nigeria has about 24, 000 active licensed physicians caring for over 200 million population.
NMA President, Ojinmah Uche, who said this in during a policy dialogue on Nigeria’s health sector, noted that it is as a result of brain drain in the country.
Uche stated that a private sector-driven healthcare system with government support and enabling environment will over time stop and may even initiate brain drain.
