Kenya has sworn in the new 22-member cabinet a day after they were approved by parliament.
The new cabinet’s immediate focus will be to reduce the cost of living and a food crisis caused by failed rains.
President William Ruto retained one minister from his predecessor’s cabinet as an adviser on national security.
Despite promising 50% of cabinet appointments to women, Ruto nominated only seven women to the 22 ministerial positions, with two women as presidential advisers and one woman cabinet secretary.
