Malaysia’s Prime Minister, Anwar Ibrahim has promised to lead a government inclusive of everyone in the multi-ethnic, multi-religious Southeast Asian nation.
Anwar said he would not draw a salary and that his government would guarantee and safeguard the rights of all Malaysians, especially the marginalized and impoverished, regardless of race or religion.
He was named prime minister by the king after an inconclusive election last Saturday that left his Pakatan Harapan coalition with the most seats but short of the majority needed to rule.
