Edo State government has decried the rising cases of Lassa fever in the state.
The state Commissioner for Health, Obehi Akoria, revealed that the state has recorded three more confirmed cases of Lassa fever, raising the total number of confirmed cases on admission to 26.
Akoria charged residents to take preventive measures against the spread of the disease, avoid bush burning, indiscriminate waste disposal and maintain high standards of communal hygiene.
The Commissioner implored healthcare providers to desist from managing illnesses beyond their scope and to promptly refer such cases as early treatment is key to survival and containing spread.
