The Department of State Services, DSS, has urged political parties to be careful of their utterances as they engage in their electioneering activities.
A statement issued by DSS Public Relations Officer, Peter Afunanya, warned political parties and their media managers to apply restraint in their public communication prior to and after the general elections.
The statement explained that this is to avoid heating up the polity and evoking tendencies that could lead to violent reactions as well as undermine peace and order.
This comes after the security agency interrogated a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress Femi Fani-Kayode, on Tuesday.
