Enugu Electricity Distribution Company Plc (EEDC) has attributed the power outage currently being experienced in parts of the South-East to a rainstorm that occurred on Sunday which damaged some of its facilities.
EEDCs’ Head of Corporate Communications, Emeka Ezeh, in a statement on Monday, disclosed that the situation resulted in faults occasioned by fallen trees and a high rate of broken high and low tension poles.
Ezeh added that the damage disrupted its 11KV and 33KV feeders that supply electricity to the South-East states such as Anambra, Imo, Enugu, Abia, and Ebonyi states.
He apologized for the inconveniences the power outage might have caused, noting that its technical and maintenance teams are working on restoring power.
