The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria has faulted plans by President Bola Tinubu to enforce the removal of fuel subsidy by the end of June.
IPMANs’ National Public Relations Officer, Ukadike Chinedu, on Monday, said it opposes the subsidy removal plan, stressing that the new government should dialogue with marketers before deciding to remove the subsidy.
Ukadike reiterated that Nigerian refineries should be fixed before the subsidy is removed, to avoid galloping inflation and inflicting more hardship on the masses.
Recall that Tinubu on Monday, disclosed that his administration would not continue to pay subsidy on petroleum products.
