The Director-General of the World Trade Organisation (WTO), Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala said poor countries were worst hit by the Ukraine grain deal collapse.
Okonjo-Iweala stated this in a statement on Monday.
She faulted Russia’s decision to halt its participation in the Black Sea Grain Initiative.
The WTO DG, expressed disappointment at the termination of the Black Sea Grain Initiative and the interruption of the grain trade from Ukraine.
Recall that Russia had earlier said it would no longer cooperate with a deal that allowed the safe Black Sea export of Ukraine’s grain.
