The United States on Wednesday prepares for the second presidential 2024 Republican primary debate, with front-runner Donald Trump once again refusing to take part.
Trump had announced he would be skipping the debates, citing a commanding poll lead which he has maintained despite facing multiple criminal charges.
The ex-president faces federal criminal charges for the mishandling of classified documents and conspiracy charges for trying to overturn the 2020 election results
His legal troubles have done little to dent his lead, but he has remained the Republican’s likely choice for a presidential candidate despite judge ruling that could see him ousted from management of the Trump Organization.
