The former bitcoin “golden boy,” Sam Bankman-Fried, has been found guilty on all counts on Thursday and sentenced to 110 years in prison.
The US prosecutors had accused Bankman-Fried of stealing billions of dollars from his customers.
US Attorney Damian Williams said in a statement after the verdict was announced that, Bankman-Fried had perpetrated one of the biggest financial frauds in American history, a mult-ibillion dollar scheme designed to make him the king of crypto.
His lawyer Mark Cohen said they were very disappointed with the result.
