The Nigeria Labor Congress, NLC, has called on the Federal Government to immediately tackle hunger and economic hardship in the country.
NLC President, Joe Ajaero, said this while addressing workers during a peaceful protest at the National Assembly on Tuesday in Abuja.
He said they are here for a peaceful protest, because Nigerians are hungry and they know where is pinching them.
Noting that bag of rice is over N70, 000 or more, adding that they can not even buy indomi, even bread is out of reach and with N30, 000 minimum wag.
Recalls that on February 16, NLC at the end of its National Executive Council, NEC, meeting, had declared a two-day nationwide protest from February 27 to February 28, over the worsening economic hardship and insecurity in the country.
