Jigawa State House of Assembly has suspended four local government chairmen from office for alleged misconduct.
This followed the adoption of the report of the House Committee on Local Government oversight visits to the 27 councils of the state at plenary.
Presenting the report, the committee’s chairman, Malam Aminu Zakari (APC/Gwiwa), urged the House to suspend the chairmen of Auyo, Dutse, Gumel and Ringim councils for misconduct.
Zakari said the committee’s findings indicated that the chairmen were involved in misconduct, negligence and misappropriation of public funds.
