People are observing today as Consumer’s Right Day which takes place on every 15th of March and the Imo State Consumer Protection Council (CPC ) under the leadership of its Director General, Obioma Okafor, yesterday held a road show which aimed at sensitizing consumers in Imo State on the need to know their rights as consumers of goods and services in the State.
The road show which started from the CPC headquarters, down to the heart of Owerri, attracted diverse crowd who are eager to learn more about consumer protection laws and how to assert their rights in the marketplace.
Representatives from the CPC headed by the DG, Obioma Okafor delivered informative sessions, highlighting key aspects of consumer rights, such as product safety, and redress mechanisms for grievances.
Furthermore, the CPC distributed educational materials and resources to road users who are notable consumers ensuring that they have access to valuable information even after the event concludes.
This initiative reflects the council’s commitment to promoting consumer welfare and moreover, the road show in Owerri, served as a powerful platform for consumer education and empowerment, arming consumers with knowledge and resources.
