Armed gunmen have killed and kidnapped an unconfirmed number of persons in Madaka community, Rafi local government area of Niger State.
Report has it that the bandits stormed the community’s market in the area at about 3pm on Thursday and opened fire on the people.
It was also learnt that during the attack, the bandits whisked away a number of villagers to an unknown location as this is coming barely two days after gunmen invaded Pangu Gari, and killed the district head and four other persons in the area.
When contacted, the Niger State Commissioner for Homeland Security, Bello Abdullahi Mohammed confirmed the incident.
He explained that the state government was not resting on its oars but was working along with security agencies on how to end the series of attacks being launched by bandits on farming communities in the state.
