The National Agency for Food, Drugs Administration and Control, NAFDAC, has made significant seizures of pharmaceutical products worth millions in Onitsha, Anambra State.
While cracking down on illegal activities, NAFDAC also uncovered fake alcohol factories in Enugu and Imo States.
In a press conference in Awka, Anambra State, NAFDAC’s Director for the South-East Zone, Martins Iluyomade, announced the successful raids.
Over 892 bottles of codeine syrup and other controlled substances were seized in Onitsha, highlighting the risks posed by these illicit products to public health and safety.
The operation led by Anambra State Coordinator, Louis Mmadubuatta was hailed as a victory for both public health and safety.
In Enugu, illegal alcohol production facilities were dismantled, emphasizing NAFDAC’s commitment to combating such activities in the region.
