High Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos State has granted bail to the former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, in the sum of 50 million Naira as Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) also released details of 18 out of the 26 fresh multi-million-dollar and Naira corruption charges preferred against Emefiele.
Recall that Emefiele and Henry Isioma Omoile were arraigned at the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos, on Monday by the EFCC on 26 fresh counts.
However, Justice Rahman Oshodi, in his ruling today admitted Emefiele to bail with two sureties in like sum.
Justice Oshodi held that the sureties must be gainfully employed and have three years of tax payment with the Lagos State Government.
The Court ordered that the sureties must show proper identification and must be registered in the Lagos State Bail Management System.
