In tragic news, Francis Amamosa, the pioneer chairman of the PDP in Abavo, Ward 10, Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, was killed by gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen.
Reports indicate that the octogenarian politician and community leader was attacked and killed Tuesday morning at his far at Abavo, by the suspected herdsmen who also attempted to kidnap him along with two other farmers.
Despite his resistance, Elder Amamosa was fatally shot and later succumbed to his injuries, while the other farmers were abducted by the assailants.
The remains of Elder Amamosa have been deposited at the mortuary, and the matter has been reported to the Abavo police division for further investigations into this tragic incident.
