The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, for the 2023 presidential election Peter Obi, has described the allegation by the Minister of Works, Dave Umahi’s against him as unfounded accusations aimed at tarnishing his character.
The former Anambra State governor’s said that claims of incitement by Umahi are baseless distractions, adding that he has always advocated for unity and advancement, refusing to partake in reactionary divisive politics.
Obi’s statement came as a response to Umahi’s claim that he (Obi) was inciting Igbos against the federal government.
Umahi made the statement on Wednesday while speaking during a compensation for property owners affected by the Lagos-Calabar coastal road prospect.
Taking to his X platform Obi wrote that his focus is on fostering constructive dialogue and inclusivity, rather than engaging in divisive politics.
