Nigerian Polytechnic Students Reject Disaccreditation Of Pharmaceutical Technology Course

Students of Pharmaceutical Technology in Nigerian Polytechnics have expressed strong opposition to the decision made by the National Board for Technical Education (N-B-T-E), the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria, and the Ministry of Education to scrap their course, labeling the decision as unjust, arbitrary, and undemocratic.
The students criticized the move, asserting that it would make education inaccessible to the common people, portraying it as an attempt to exclude certain groups from educational opportunities.
They also emphasized that this decision not only affects current students but also impacts graduates from the department, limiting their prospects in the job market.
A memorandum of understanding was signed and issued by the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria and the National Board for Technical Education scraping the Pharmaceutical Technology course and restricting graduates from working in health-related sectors pertaining to their field of study.
The students have issued an statement to the relevant authorities, urging them to reconsider the decision.
