Tensions are running high in Okuku Autonomous Community, Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo State as allegations have surfaced that the State Commissioner for Education, Johnclif Nwadike, and the Executive Director of the Secondary Education Management Board, Tina Azubuike, sold eight plots of land belonging to Arah Secondary School to private individuals.
According to reports, the community had originally donated this land specifically for the school’s use, and are opposing the alleged sale, citing grave safety concerns for the students on the school premises.
Residents of the community have appealed for the intervention of the state government, to urgently intervene in the matter and have also expressed their readiness to take drastic action, to protect their land and the school from any harm.
