A tragic incident occurred late Sunday night in Lagos State when the driver of a speeding Mercedes-Benz SUV with two occupants lost their lives after ramming into a stationary truck.
According to eyewitness reports, the incident that occurred at Mandilas Bus Stop, Iyana Isolo, along the Oshodi-Apapa Expressway is attributed to over-speeding by the SUV driver before the impact with the truck.
Confirming the tragedy, the Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Authority (LASEMA), Femi Oke-Osanyintolu stated the impact of this collision resulted in a fire outbreak from the car engine
He also added that as of 9 am on Monday, normal traffic movement had been restored in the area following the evacuation of the three burnt victims trapped inside the SUV.
