The Nigerian Air Force says its air operations code-named Whirl Punch and Hadarin Daji have eliminated terrorist enclaves and killed scores of fighters in Kaduna and Katsina States.
According to the Air Force spokesman, Edward Gabkwet, airstrikes were conducted between May 30th and 31st on an identified terrorists’ enclave in Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State, as intelligence surveillance had revealed several thatched huts within the location’s compounds amid thick vegetation.
Gabkwet said the airstrikes targeted terrorists responsible for attacks and kidnappings in several villages and communities in the states.
He also added that the Air Force will continue air operations and collaborate with ground forces to sustain dominance in the operational areas while calling for a whole-of-society approach against the criminal elements.
