Presidency Denies N105,000 As Proposed New Minimum Wage For Workers.

Presidency has denied reports suggesting that the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, along with the Nigerian government negotiating team tabled 105,000 Naira as the proposed new minimum wage to President Bola Tinubu.
The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, described the claim as untrue, but failed to give the correct proposal.
Recall there has been disagreement between organised labour and the government as the organised labour are asking for a wage of 494,000 Naira but the government said it would pay 60,000 Naira.
However, following the declaration of an indefinite nationwide strike which commenced on Monday and was relaxed for one week, the government said they are committed to pay above 60,000 Naira.
