President Bola Tinubu has assured Nigerians that he will not disappoint them, delivering this promise during a nationwide broadcast on Wednesday, marking Nigeria’s 25th anniversary of democracy.
In his address, Tinubu urged citizens to endure the economic hardships brought about by recent reforms, which he described as necessary steps to secure the nation’s economic stability.
He also highlighted ongoing discussions with organized labor regarding a new national minimum wage, stating that the government is negotiating in good faith,that an executive measure would soon be presented to the National Assembly to formalize the agreed-upon salary for a period of up to five years.
Emphasizing the importance of both political and economic democracy, Tinubu called on the nation to continue striving for a better future, acknowledging the current economic challenges while underscoring the need for substantial changes to pave the way for future prosperity.
