Abia State Commissioner of Health Resigns following Suspension

The suspended Abia State Commissioner for Health, Ngozi Okoronkwo, has resigned her position from Governor Alex Otti’s cabinet.
Recall that the governor of Abia State had on June 11, 2024, suspended the Health Commissioner over alleged financial misconduct, and set up a committee to probe the allegations against her..
In a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ukoha Njoku, Otti accepted the commissioner’s resignation and thanked her for her services and modest achievement in repositioning the state health sector.
The Governor also reasserted his commitment to transforming Abia State, reminding citizens that his electoral mandate allows him to manage his team – including hiring, suspending, or dismissing appointees and reshuffling his cabinet as needed to fulfill his promises to the people.
