The government of Cross River State has taken significant steps by deploying 36 motorcycles to the hinterlands for health monitoring, in bid to combat the spread of cholera and tuberculosis.
Also, the Commissioner of Health, Henry Ayuk, on Friday, confirmed the donation of brand new hillux vehicles by international organisations, which have been put to use in the state’s fight against TB and cholera.
Speaking to journalists, Ayuk highlighted that the spread of tuberculosis and cholera has been effectively contained in the state, and that 196 primary healthcare centers have been refurbished, with plans to double that number by the end of the year.
Additionally, the state is set to receive digital X-ray machines to enhance tuberculosis diagnosis in secondary health facilities, as well as the revitalization of 196 more healthcare facilities with the aid of the world bank.
