Former Chelsea midfielder Mikel Obi has called on Arsenal to consider signing Brentford striker Ivan Toney.
Speaking on BeIN Sports on Monday, Mikel emphasized that a player of Toney’s quality could be instrumental in Arsenal’s quest to secure the Premier League title, which has slipped through their fingers in the past two seasons.
Toney, who has been a key figure for Brentford since their promotion in 2021, has scored an impressive 72 goals and provided 23 assists in 141 appearances across competitions.
His 20-goal haul in the 2022-23 season caught the attention of top English clubs, including Arsenal and Tottenham.
Mikel, now 37, highlighted Arsenal’s need for a proven goalscorer, stating that while Kai Havertz is performing well, Toney could be the key addition to propel the Gunners to the next level.
