Japan Accuses China of Violating Its Airspace

Japan has accused a Chinese spy plane of breaching its airspace, marking the first known instance of such a violation.
Japan scrambled fighter jets after a Y-9 surveillance plane entered the territorial airspace of the Danjo Islands for approximately two minutes on Monday.
According to reports, Japanese authorities issued notifications and warnings to the Chinese aircraft during Monday’s incursion, but no weapons such as flare guns were used.
Japan’s Chief Cabinet Secretary, Yoshimasa Hayashi, described the breach as utterly unacceptable and summoned a Chinese embassy official in Tokyo to express the country’s protest.
This incident occurs amid rising tensions in the region, where China is competing for influence against the US and its allies, including Japan.
