In Rivers State, a Director from the Board of Internal Revenue, Aribibia Fubara, who was kidnapped last month, has regained his freedom.
Reports indicate that he was released just after midnight last on a small island near Bonny, though he was not reunited with his family until Monday, September 9th, 2024.
A family source, speaking anonymously, confirmed his release and disclosed that a ransom of ₦15 million was paid to secure his freedom.
Recall that Fubara was abducted on Saturday, August 24th, at the Okrika waterfront near the Marine Base area in Port Harcourt, and was held captive for a total of 12 days before his release.
