English broadcaster Piers Morgan on Friday has wagered £10,000, betting that Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag will fail to win either the Premier League or the Champions League during his time at the club.
Morgan, a known fan of Cristiano Ronaldo, took the opportunity to criticize Ten Hag’s handling of the Portuguese star, particularly in response to Ronaldo’s recent remarks about the Dutchman’s mentality.
Ronaldo, who left Manchester United in 2022 following a series of disagreements with Ten Hag, recently criticized the manager’s leadership on the “Rio Ferdinand Presents” podcast, suggesting Ten Hag should not publicly claim that United cannot compete for major titles.
Ten Hag brushed off Ronaldo’s comments, attributing them to Ronaldo’s distance from the club since moving to Saudi Arabia.
Morgan, however, doubled down, posting on X: “Ronaldo won three Premier League titles and a Champions League at United. I’ll bet Ten Hag £10,000 to charity he never wins either.”
