The National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, held a solidarity march in the Federal Capital Territory on Tuesday to mark Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day anniversary.
During the event, NANS President, Lucky Emonefe, while speaking to the newsmen called on the Federal Government to enhance security across campuses nationwide. While acknowledging the country’s progress since independence, as he highlighted the need for further development.
He also expressed appreciation to the Bola Tinubu-led government for the ongoing student loan scheme and the provision of CNG buses to ease transportation.
The march aimed to showcase national pride, gratitude for overcoming challenges, and celebrate milestones, with Emonefe stating that Nigerian students reject aligning with negative elements working against the nation while adding that true patriotism involves supporting leaders as maintaining the right to express concerns over specific policies.
