The Nigerian Navy, under the banner of Operation DELTA SANITY, has successfully uncovered and deactivated an illegal refining site in the Bolo area of Rivers State.
According to a statement released on the Navy’s social media page on Monday, the site contained one cooking tank, one storage tank, and a dug-out pit filled with an undisclosed quantity of stolen crude oil.
The Navy confirmed that several suspects linked to the illegal operation have been apprehended and are currently in custody, pending the conclusion of investigations.
This action is part of the Navy’s ongoing efforts to curb illegal oil refining and crude oil theft in Nigeria’s oil-rich Niger Delta region.
