A Nigerian lawyer and human rights activist, Femi Falana (SAN), has knocked the decisions of Nigeria National Petroleum Company to fix prices of imported fuel and locally refined fuel, describing them as illegal, null, and void.
In a statement on Thursday, Falana stated that the move contravened the provisions of section 205 of the Petroleum Industry Act.
He accused the company of serial violation of the law setting it up while stating that the market has been deregulated, meaning that petrol prices are now determined by market forces rather than by the government or NNPC Ltd.
