The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Olayemi Cardoso, has reiterated the Bank’s dedication to fostering the next generation of leaders in the financial and social sciences sectors.
Cardoso made this assertion during a recent strategic engagement with the President and Chairman of the Governing Council of the Nigerian Economic Society (NES), Adeola Adenikinju, who led a delegation of NES officials and the Nigerian Economics Students Association (NESA) to the CBN headquarters.
According to a statement released on Sunday by the bank, Cardoso addressed the shortage of skilled professionals in finance-related fields within Nigerian universities, highlighting the importance of collective efforts in youth development.
Cardoso emphasized the need to create more opportunities for young Nigerians and equip them with the necessary tools to excel in their respective fields and compete globally.
Following presentations by NES and NES on key research topics and initiatives, Cardoso stressed the importance of organizing mentorship programs in collaboration with NES and NESA to help both organizations achieve their objectives.
