The Nigerian Governors’ Forum (NGF) on Wednesday has pledged its support for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in its fight against corruption as this comes as the Supreme Court prepares to rule on a case filed by 19 governors challenging the constitutionality of the EFCC’s establishment.
Speaking at the 2024 National Cybercrime Summit in Abuja, NGF Chairman and Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq reaffirmed the forum’s commitment.
The summit, organized by the EFCC, focused on promoting digital skills to combat cybercrime and enhancing national development.
Abdulrazaq called for greater collaboration on cyber-security and commended the EFCC, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), and National Orientation Agency (NOA) for their efforts in educating young Nigerians about crime and patriotism as he emphasized the need for a shift in public perception regarding crime.
Similarly, Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal expressed his willingness to support the EFCC’s anti-corruption campaign, stating that leaders must remain transparent and accountable.
