Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has stated that coach Ruben Amorim will only face him as Manchester United boss in the Premier League and FA Cup.
Guardiola was speaking to the media after a 4-1 defeat to Amorim’s Sporting in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
It was the 39-year-old’s last home fixture in charge of the Portuguese club, as he is set to resume as the new United head coach on November 11th.
Amorim will however be taking charge of a team that is struggling in the league and Europa League.
Guardiola was quick to rub it in after suffering a third defeat in a row with City which has made the fans panicking, wondering if the Citizens will be able to retain the English Premier League title they won last season.
Pep Guardiola has refused to enter into new contract discussion with City but believes he can still prolong his stay at the club despite contract issues.
