The Nigerian government has approved the establishment of the National Paramilitary Academy.
The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, disclosed this to newsmen in Abuja on Wednesday, adding that President Bola Tinubu gave the approval on Monday at the Federal Executive Council meeting in Abuja.
According to the minister, the institution will train young citizens in paramilitary engagement after securing admission through the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The modus is that the students will graduate as properly trained officers, ready to contribute their quota to national security.
