South African President, Cyril Ramaphosa has appointed Raymond Zondo as the Country’s new Chief Justice.
The announcement was made in a statement issued on Thursday, after a public selection process.
The statement noted that the appointment takes effective from April 1.
It maintained that Justice Zondo will acquit himself with distinction in this position.
Zondo, who has served as Deputy Chief Justice at the Constitutional Court since 2017, became the public face of President Ramaphosa’s anti-corruption drive.
