IGP Bars Police Officers in Mufti from Conducting Stop and Search

The Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, has barred all police officers on mufti from carrying out stop and search at checkpoints.

The Acting Public Relations Officer of Police, Muyiwa Adejobi, noted that the officers must not perform patrol duties without putting on approved uniforms.

Adejobi stressed that every police uniform must bear name and force number for other ranks.

The PPRO added that the Force has taken this step to sanitize the operational engagements of the Police.
