Israel holds talk with Egypt over bilateral issues

Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett held talks with Egyptian President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi in the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh.

The Egyptian presidency said the two leaders discussed bilateral and regional issues and ways to revive the Israeli-Palestinian peace process.

Bennett, who succeeded Benjamin Netanyahu in June, accepted an invitation to visit Egypt last month.

It is the first official trip to Egypt by an Israeli premier for a decade.
Egypt became the first Arab country to sign a peace treaty with Israel in 1979, but relations between the neighbors have often been cool.
