The United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, US-CDC has commenced a capacity-building programme on health emergency response for Nigerian experts.
US-CDC Nigeria Country Director, Mary Boyd, said the impact of COVID-19 illustrates the importance of ensuring healthcare systems can prevent, respond to, and recover from emergencies.
The two-week training in Lagos will certify the first cohort of 40 participants in the Public Health Emergency Management Professional Certification , PHEM PC.
The US Mission in Nigeria disclosed that the training is part of America’s efforts to support pandemic preparedness globally.
