Kaduna government declares curfew as death toll rises

Kaduna State government declared curfew as hoodlums attacked a church, raising the death toll to 37 in southern Kaduna.

The State Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, said three additional corpses were recovered from Jema’a and Kaura LGAs.

The incident which affected four locations sparked off violent protests by some youths in the areas.

The development forced the Kaduna Government to slam a 24-hour-curfew on Jema’a and Kaura Local Government Areas which shared boundaries, to avoid further escalation of the violence.
