INEC Calls on Abubakar-led National Peace Committee to Ease Electoral Violence

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has called on Abdulsalam Abubakar-led National Peace Committee, NPC, to ease electoral violence in the country.

Chairman of the Commission, Mahmood Yakubu, pleaded with the Committee to engage actors and stakeholders in the political space to minimize incidences of electoral violence in the 2023 general election.

Yakubu noted that one of the things the Peace Committee can help them do in mitigating security challenges is early engagement with some of the actors.
