Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, has said the Federal Government was working with the Nigerian Air Force to aid the Federal Fire Service in deploying planes for the aerial firebombing of bushfires or other wildfires.
Aregbesola, who was represented by the acting Comptroller General, Federal Fire Service, Samson Karebo, disclosed this at a two-day Tall Building Fire Safety Conference in Lagos state.
He noted that the Federal Government had procured DG54 Aerial Platform Fire Fighting Truck with a 54-metre height capacity to reach the 18th floor of high-rise buildings.
The Minister added that the Federal Government was working out modalities for armed escort for firemen on assignment to discourage touts and miscreant attacks.
