The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has expressed concerns over corruption cases lost to technicalities in courts.
Chairman of the EFCC, Abdulrasheed Bawa, stressed that such a development may serve as a deterrent to the fight against financial crimes.
Bawa commended President Muhammadu Buhari for signing the Money Laundering (Prevention and Prohibition) Act 2022, the Terrorism (Prevention and Prohibition) Act 2022 and the Proceeds of Crime (Recovery and Management) Act 2022 into law.
The Chairman expressed optimism that the new laws would serve as significant legal instruments to strengthen the anti-corruption war.
