The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, has called on traditional, religious and community leaders to join the fight against drug abuse and misuse in the country.
NAFDAC Director-General, Moji Adeyeye, who was represented by the Director of Narcotics and Substances Control, Musa Umar, made the call during a sensitization campaign in Nnewi, Anambra State.
Adeyeye warned that drug abuse, misuse, addictions and self-medication are injurious to public health and wellbeing.
The Director maintained that with collaborative efforts, the level of drug induced crimes in the country would be curtailed.
